  1. Unzip the the template file (photograpr.zip) that you have downloaded.

2. Before You Get Started:

Image Resizing

WordPress has built in image resizing functions that makes it easy for you to keep your images manageable. This theme comes with two main content widths, with and without the sidebar. It is up to you to decide what format you want to have for your theme. (See 5)

  • The wider site settings (without a sidebar) allows you to display images of up to a width of 1020px.
  • The narrower site setting (with a sidebar) allows you to display images of up to a width of 685px.

Once you have decided what width you want for your site, make the necessary changes in your WordPress backend. Go to SETTINGS > MISCELLANEOUS. Locate the “Image Sizes” section and change the “Medium” values to the width you have chosen for your site. Make the height a very large number (10000+) is you are not interrested in constricting the heights of your photos. Lastly, in the thumbnail values enter 150 (150px) for both the height and width. Also tick the “Crop Thumbnail” option. This serves as the base height and width for the thumbnails in the slider functionality.

That is it. Not you can upload images of great dimensions and WordPress will take care of the rest.

Required Plugins

A great deal of WordPress functionality comes from plugins. This theme requires you to install two of them before you get started.

Simply download the above plugins and upload them to your /wp-content/uploads/ directory. Go to your WordPress backend and activate them on the Plugins page.

3. Explaining the Theme Options:

This theme allows you to overlay an image (jpeg, gif, png) over your themes header. Just follow these easy steps.
